There are so many companies and sites out there where people can sell gold jewelry for cash. Has anyone had a good experience with one of these companies?

I was recently hired to find out which gold selling site pays the most for gold, for a market research project on internet marketing and the power of the net. I mailed bent rings (all the same weight and gold content) to 9 different "sell you gold for cash" type sites. The results were pretty dramatic. The checks received varied from $45 to $160. The three lowest paying sites were goldkit ($45), brokengold ($58) and cash4gold ($66). The top site was http://www.USGoldRefining.com ($160). I went to a pawn shop and found that they would pay $120.
